After weeks of speculation, Brock Lesnar announced earlier today that he has officially re-signed with WWE.
“I’m an older caveman now, so I make wiser caveman decisions,” explains Lesnar. “My legacy in the Octagon is over. However, my legacy this Sunday at WrestleMania will not be my last. It weighed heavily on my heart that I was born to be an entertainer, and I have fun doing it.”
UFC president Dana White expressed his thoughts on the former UFC Heavyweight Champion’s decision to leave the Octagon in the video below.
As a fan on Lesnar’s work both inside the squared circle and the Octagon, I was torn between what I wanted Brock to do. On one hand, I truly believe that a 100% healthy Brock Lesnar could dominate the heavyweight division in UFC and once again become champion. However, I’m a pro wrestling fan at heart, and Brock’s current run right now in WWE is white hot. Ultimately, I think that Brock made the right decision for himself and for his family. It will be interesting to see if this will affect the outcome of the main event at WrestleMania this Sunday.
