The mighty Van Halen took over Hollywood Boulevard last night (Monday, March 30th) to perform a special concert for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on ABC-TV. Check out video of the band performing VH classics “Panama” and “Runnin’ With the Devil” below.
It is interesting to note that early in the performance, frontman David Lee Roth cut his nose on the microphone, forcing the band to briefly stop the show so he could get it taken care of. “I fucked my nose up with the microphone here,” Roth told the crowd. “So we’re gonna start the whole thing over, and give you a little extra for your patience.” Footage of that incident can be seen below.
Van Halen will be performing once again on the Kimmel show tonight (Tuesday, March 31st), as today marks the release of their first official live album with David Lee Roth, “Live: Tokyo Dome: In Concert”. The band will then embark on a summer/fall North American tour in promotion of the album that will kick off on July 5th in Seattle and wrap up on October 2nd in Los Angeles. Full dates can be seen on the band’s official website. The opening act of the tour will be Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
